Erin Somers and RJ Johnson said they knew they wanted their wedding in Duluth, Minn., one of their favorite places to visit during weekends, and on a whim entered a contest to have their wedding on the historic clipper, which is visiting the city as part of the Tall Ships Duluth festival, the Duluth (Minn.) News Tribune reported Monday.
The pair wed Sunday aboard the Pride of Baltimore II and were also awarded guest accommodations at Larsmont Cottages, a luau-style reception with a roast pig and transport to and from the shop by Escape Limousine Service.
Cap. Jamie Trost said the wedding was an unusual occurrence for the Pride of Baltimore II.
"At what port other than Duluth would you do something like this?" he asked.
