While country music star Toby Keith is set to begin his U.S. tour next month, he will also be making his film debut later this year in "Broken Bridges."

Billboard reported that Keith will portray a fading country music star in the cinematic drama alongside actress Kelly Preston and newcomer Lindsey Haun.

In addition to his acting role in the movie, the 45-year-old Keith will sing with Haun on the title song of the film's soundtrack.

Haun will also join Keith when he performs in Cleveland Aug.1 as part of the initial offering of his new "Hookin' Up & Hanging' Out" U.S. tour, the report said.

"Broken Bridges" will be released nationwide Sept. 8, with a special premiere in Nashville the night before, while the film's soundtrack is due for release on Aug. 29., Billboard said.
