The organizers said the Madison convention, in its third year, will include a vendors area, an "artist alley" for selling crafts, panel discussions on a variety of subjects, a variety show and a costume contest, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Friday.
Natalie Mainland, 20, co-chair of the convention, said the event has attractions aimed at gamers, comic book readers, anime fans, science fiction aficionados, toy collectors and more.
"What I really like about Geek.Kon is that it has everything geeky rolled into one," Mainland said. "We really have it all here."
The convention opened its doors Friday at the Sheraton Madison Hotel and runs through Sunday.
