Comedy Central Wednesday renewed the satirical "The Colbert Report" through 2006.

Stephen Colbert's sendup of cable news shows immediately follows Comedy Central's "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" four nights a week.
Comedy Central made the announcement less than three weeks into Colbert's initial eight-week run, The Hollywood Reporter noted.
The show is executive produced by Stewart, Colbert and Ben Karlin, which Comedy Central's Lauren Corrao praised Wednesday as a "talented and creative team," The Reporter said.
