Chris Tucker to accept Apollo award on Michael Jackson's behalf

Comic actor Chris Tucker is expected to accept an award on the late Michael Jackson's behalf at the Apollo Theater's annual spring benefit concert in New York.

The entertainers reportedly were close friends before Jackson's death on last June 25.
The New York Post said while Tucker did not speak at the singer's public memorial last July, he is believed to be planning to make a speech at the Apollo event Monday night.
Jamie Foxx is to preside over the event, which will honor Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, and feature a tribute to Jackson, the Post said.
