"No, she's not going to America, she's staying here. She will not be going there for that," Cole's mom Joan told the U.K.'s The Sunday People newspaper.

Cowell inked a deal with Fox last week that will end his American Idol judging role while also launching his British The X Factor reality competition series for the network in Fall 2011.

He subsequently stated that Cole -- who replaced Sharon Osbourne as a British The X Factor judge prior to is fifth season in 2008 -- would "be great" for the American edition.

However her mom claims it won't be happening because Cole is interested in starting a family with her husband -- U.K. soccer star Ashley Cole.

"Cheryl is really in favor of working mums but knows this would be quite hard to do in America," Joan told The Sunday People

"She also wouldn't be able to bear leaving Ashley for too long - not because she's worried he'll cheat but because she doesn't like not being with him."

In addition to Cole, Cowell also floated music producer Tony Mottola as a "good choice" for The X Factor's judging panel.
