Charlie Sheen wished his former "Two and a Half Men" stars well when he presented an award at the Emmys ceremony in Los Angeles Sunday night.

Well-groomed and appearing relaxed, Sheen was greeted with loud applause as he took the stage. "Men" co-star Jon Cryer smiled warmly at him and talk-show host and comedian Jimmy Fallon gave him a standing ovation.

"Thank you. Good evening," Sheen said. "Before I present Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series -- my old category -- I want to take a moment to get something off my chest and say a few words to everybody here from 'Two and a Half Men.' From the bottom of my heart, I wish you nothing but the best for this upcoming season. We spent eight wonderful years together and I know you will continue to make great television."

He then presented the Emmy for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series to "The Big Bang Theory" star Jim Parsons.

"This is so odd for so many reasons," Parsons quipped, referring to how he received the award from past rival Sheen and beat out his "Bang" co-star Johnny Galecki for this year's honor.

Sheen was fired this year from the sitcom "Two and a Half Men" after eight seasons because of his erratic behavior and substance abuse, as well as for disparaging remarks he made about series creator Chuck Lorre, his co-stars and the show itself. He later announced he is planning to star in a comedy series inspired by the film "Anger Management," however, it is unclear exactly when or where the show might air. He was roasted last weekend during a program to air on Comedy Central Monday, the same night as the Season 9 premiere of "Two and a Half Men."

During the past year, Sheen divorced his wife Brooke Mueller, who accused him of assaulting her. They have twin toddler sons.

In recent interviews, Sheen has said he is sober and looking forward to the future.
