A cat that spent three weeks flying across oceans in the cargo hold of a United Airlines plane is recovering from the ordeal at a veterinary clinic in Denver.

Pumpkin got out of her container and vanished during a short haul from England to Germany Dec. 28, the Rocky Mountain News reported. Airport workers found her in Denver Wednesday.
"When she came in, she was dirty and light as a feather," said veterinarian David Gall of the Alameda East Clinic. "She has gained about half a pound since we've been feeding her."
Gall said Pumpkin appears to have flown from London to Munich, and then to Washington and eventually to Los Angeles. Somehow, she survived without food or water.
Once Pumpkin recovers from dehydration she will make one more short trip to rejoin her owner in Washington state.
