Jacob and Bonnie Richter of West Palm Beach said they brought Holly the cat along for their trip to the Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach and they were unable to find their pet despite days of searching, ABC News reported Monday.
However, an emaciated Holly turned up 62 days later in Palm Beach Gardens -- only one mile from their home.
"It was quite a journey for this little girl," Jacob Richter said. "We just can't believe she came home."
Veterinarian Marty Becker described the indoor cat's journey as miraculous.
"All animals have a sense of direction, but it's really unusual for cats to find a way home over long distances," he said. "I think this is somewhat of a miracle."
