Carly Waddell apparently switched Neil Lane engagement rings before walking down the aisle to marry Evan Bass in a Bachelor in Paradise special that aired on Tuesday night.

Bachelor in Paradise viewers got front-row seats to Carly and Evan's beautiful wedding at the Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta resort near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, during last night's episode. But what fans didn't know is that Carly ditched her initial engagement ring from her now-husband -- the ring Evan actually proposed with on Bachelor in Paradise's third-season finale in September 2016.

When Evan got down on one knee, he popped the question with a light pink, pear-shaped diamond that sits atop a split band set with 157 round diamonds that was handcrafted by Neil Lane, People reported.

The 1.5 carat sparkler reportedly captured Evan's attention right away, as Neil recalled his conversation with Evan last year in which the erectile dysfunction expert had "described Carly and how much he loved her quirky personality and how he wanted something completely different."

But when Carly and Evan met with the jeweler again this year in Los Angeles to pick out their wedding bands for their June nuptials, an impromptu second marriage proposal happened.

"Carly absolutely loved the ring Evan proposed with, but she had always fantasized about a cushion-cut diamond," Neil disclosed.

"When she saw this ring in the case, she kept palpitating and she was overwhelmed. She kept looking at it. She was distracted and Evan was like, 'Hey babe, what's up?' And she told him she always imagined a cushion-cut diamond. But she didn't want him to feel hurt."

But Evan wanted his bride to have the ring and wedding of her dreams, so the couple apparently consulted with Neil about switching Carly's engagement rings -- a request the jeweler agreed to.

"This never happened in all my years working with the show," Neil shared with People.

"I wanted to be part of the occasion. Carly jumped up and hugged me and Evan was beside himself. So he got down on his knees and re-proposed with that ring. It was so special. There was lots of tears. They were crying -- my staff was crying!"

So now Carly's original pink diamond ring is tucked away in his archives, with Neil saying, "It happened so naturally and so organically. No one expected that. [Evan] didn't expect it, she didn't expect it. It was something she had dreamed about. I get these texts from her all the time, 'I love my ring! I love my ring!'"

Carly's new engagement ring is reportedly a cushion-cut diamond set in platinum surrounded by a diamond halo and set on a band featuring 50 smaller round diamonds with a total weight of two carats.

As for the couple's wedding bands, Carly selected a handmade eternity band featuring 36 round diamonds set in rose gold.

"Carly's so vivacious and bubbly and she wanted a ring that was a little different. We came up with this design with a little movement," Neil said. "She loved the idea of going fashion-forward and mixing the platinum engagement ring with the rose gold band."

And Evan chose a "thematic" band in platinum which boasts "tire track" grooves to signify eternal love. Neil said the piece looks "strong on Evan's finger."

"The lines in the ring don't stop. It's a sign that they will work through whatever happens in their relationship," Neil explained. "It symbolizes their strength as a couple and how everything comes full circle."

For their wedding that aired Tuesday night on ABC, Carly donned a gorgeous strapless fit-and-flare gown by Israeli designer Idan Cohen with intricate white embroidery, according to People. Carly was also glowing with her hair in a loose braid, draped over one shoulder.

Carly and Evan exchanged their own heartfelt and quirky vows, and Evan pretty much cried throughout the entire ceremony.
