Bernard signed a contract to keep his character, Tony Almeida, on the series for another year, Zap2it.com reported Wednesday.
That usually isn't such a big deal, said Zap2it.com, but the fast-paced Kiefer Sutherland thriller rapidly sheds characters and another week is hardly guaranteed.
Bernard most recently appeared on NBC's miniseries sequel "10.5 Apocalypse."
