A Citrus Heights, Calif., woman says she began living the dream of a lifetime when she picked the floor plan of the $250,000 house she just won.
"It's really gorgeous," said Jennifer Draa, 46, a dispatcher for the California Department of Fish and Game.
Draa was picked from among 638,000 entrants across the United States to win a 2,037-square-foot home built by Taylor Morrison Homes, The Sacramento Bee reported Tuesday. Her winnings also include a $20,000 shopping spree at a home furnishings store and a four-day stay at Disneyland.
Draa told the Bee she ignored telephone calls from Taylor Morrison for three days because she didn't know anyone from the caller's area code and thought it was a telemarketer.
The house, to be built in Lincoln, Calif., is to be ready for occupancy early next year, said Draa who entered the contest online and must pay taxes on her winnings, the Bee reported.
