President Bush accompanied the runners on his bicycle -- he was forced to give up jogging after developing knee problems in 2003 -- giving encouragement to the runners, including Press Secretary Tony Snow, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.
The president encouraged the runners with cheers of: "You can do it! Come on!" at the event, which has been an annual tradition for the Bush camp since the 2000 presidential campaign.
Staffers who completed the run were awarded "100-Degree Club" shirts and photos with the president.
