Janet Dagley, 39, said she spotted the burglar leaving the rooms above the Grapevine pub in Peterborough, England, with pilfered valuables and blocked his exit on the stairs, The Sun reported Friday.
"There was no way he was getting past me," Dagley said. "I put my hand on both railings and called staff. We made him sit on the stairs -- like a naughty step."
The suspect, David Barry, 35, pleaded guilty to attempted burglary and was given a 27-month jail sentence to be served concurrently with a two-year sentence for a previous theft at another bar.
