Donyall Garrett is now behind bars, charged with the first-degree murder of a pregnant woman last November, the Daily Southtown reported. Garrett was arrested outside the courthouse in Markham, a suburb south of Chicago, where his brother, Robert, faces a felony drug charge.
"He was showing up for his brother," Markham Deputy Police Chief Jim Knapp said. "He's done this before."
Shantiel Clark was killed in November by a bullet fired into the car in which she was a passenger. Investigators believe that Donyall Garrett and a third brother, Tony, mistook that car for another one.
Tony Garrett was arrested in December and is being held without bail.
