In the wake of her divorce from rapper Kevin Federline, pop star Britney Spears has treated herself to both a new California mansion and a hand tattoo.

"Access Hollywood" reports that as part of her newfound freedom from marriage, the 25-year-old pop diva received a star tattoo on her right hand on Tuesday.

The tattoo is the most recent for the pop singer, who previously had a fairy placed on her lower back, a small design on her right hip and several symbols tattooed on the back of her neck.

Prior to getting her new body art, In Touch Weekly said Spears also purchased a $7.2 million villa in the Beverly Hills, Calif., and reportedly invited Federline over to visit their two children and show off her new home.

One neighbor claimed that the couple apparently has some animosity between them as Spears left Federline knocking at the front door of her 7,400-square-foot mansion for quite a while.

"She left him standing at the door knocking and didn't seem in any hurry to let him in," an unidentified neighbor of the "Toxic" star claimed.
