The staff at one of Britain's Sainsbury's supermarkets refused entry to Paul McCartney's estranged wife, Heather Mills, over alleged shoplifting charges.

When the 38-year-old Mills attempted to enter one of the company's stores in London last weekend, a store clerk asked her to leave incorrectly claiming she had been banned by the supermarket chain more than 20 years earlier for shoplifting, the Sun reported.
"A woman worker went up to Heather and stopped her going in. She said, 'Excuse me, Heather, you know you're not allowed in there, you know the situation'," said a shopper who witnessed the incident. "Heather replied, 'For Christ's sake, that was years ago. Do you honestly think I'm going to shoplift now? I've moved on from there'."
The newspaper said that the issue likely came about because of recent revelations made by McCartney's wife in her new autobiography "Out on a Limb," in which she detailed her past shoplifting experiences. A Sainsbury spokesman said the former model is welcome in any of the company's stores.
