British graphic designer David Cornthwaite, 27, is about to become the first person to skateboard across Australia, a report says.

Cornthwaite will complete the 3,600-mile trek upon his arrival in Brisbane Monday, after starting on the other side of the country in Perth in August, Britain's Daily Telegraph reported.
He said he started the journey after waking up one morning and realizing he hated his job.
"I thought, the only thing keeping me going is the skate to and from work. I was a bit disillusioned and I was looking for something new," he said.
"I saw a Lonely Planet guide to Australia. There was a map on the back. Perth was on one side and Brisbane on the other and I thought, 'That'll do.'"
He even warmed up for the ride with a one-month 896-mile trip, which he finished in June, the report said.
Cornthwaite, who has only been skateboarding for 2 years, will also beat the previous long-distance skateboarding record, set by Jack Smith, who traveled 3,000 miles in 2003.
