Tim Simenon, 37, initially denied anything had happened at his north London apartment, but later said the 27-year-old woman had made the first moves, and the sex was consensual, The Mirror reported Tuesday.
The pair had returned to Simenon's apartment after attending a mutual friend's birthday party, and prosecutor Brian Reece said, "The woman described her condition as very drunk."
Simenon was arrested on the charges in November.
In 1988, his song, "Beat Dis" made No. 2 on the British charts, and he also co-produced the international hits "Buffalo Stance" for Neneh Cherry and "Crazy" for Seal.
