McDonagh will bring his new London hit, "The Pillowman," to New York, it was announced Thursday.

The play by the 34-year-old McDonagh opened at the Royal National Theater in November 2003 and won the 2004 Olivier Award, the British equivalent of the Tony Award, for best play of the season.

A savagely funny drama about the interrogation of a writer in an unidentified totalitarian state, it received unanimously rave reviews from British critics.

The announcement by the producers said "The Pillowman" will open at the Booth Theater in New York on April 10. The cast will include Billy Crudup as the writer and Jeff Goldblum as his interrogator. John Crowley will direct and the production team will be made up of Robert Fox, Bob Boyett, and Bill Haber.
