The British reality TV show "Make Me A Supermodel" is being criticized by health and nutrition experts after judges on the show rejected a size 12 contestant.

The Daily Mail reported that Jen Hunter, 24, was reduced to tears when she was told that her legs were too stocky for her to be a catwalk model.

Judges said Hunter had not been taking her food and exercise regime seriously and had put on weight since joining the show, the newspaper said.

Marianne Berglund, 18, who is Hunter's rival on the show, has been shown to be clinically underweight, but the judges have said she has a "great" body, the Mail reported.

"It is highly irresponsible to tell a woman who is a size 12 she is too fat," said nutritionist Fiona Hunter. "This trend towards the size zero is putting young girls' long-term health at risk."
