Brian Austin Green has filed suit in Los Angeles against a former "Beverly Hills 90210" co-star who he alleges owes him $200,000.

Green's suit was filed in Los Angeles Superior Court against Vanessa Marcil-Giovanazzo, the mother of his 9-year-old child.

The suit claims in 2000, Green wrote Marcil-Giovanazzo several checks, some for as much as $50,000 at a time, for a total sum exceeding $200,000 to be paid back, documents say.

Green's suit insists "the monies were not gifts," TMZ reported Friday.

Every time Green loaned Marcil-Giovanazzo money, he and the actress agreed the money would be paid back "promptly," when Green asked for the repayment, the suit contends.

Green alleges he asked for the money in November but his former co-star did not pay him, the suit says.

Calls to Marcil-Giovanazzo's representative have not been returned, TMZ said.
