TiVo asked Americans to rank the top 25 past and present TV dads. Caring, involved and nostalgic dads ranked highest, and following Huxtable for the top honors are: Sheriff Andy Taylor from "The Andy Griffith Show," Pa Ingalls of "Little House on the Prairie," Howard Cunningham of "Happy Days," and Ward Cleaver of "Leave it to Beaver."

Still in the top 25, but at the end of the list, were TV dads who are better known for being crude and tattooed including: Peter Griffin of "Family Guy," Al Bundy of "Married ... With Children," Homer Simpson of "The Simpsons," Tony Soprano of "The Sopranos" and Ozzy Osbourne of "The Osbournes."
