Big Brother's Head of Household, Nick Maccarone, nominated Jessica Milagros and Cliff Hogg III for eviction after Christie Murphy won the panic "Whacktivity Competition" and earned herself a secret power during Sunday night's Season 21 broadcast on CBS.

Nick decided to put Jessica and Cliff on the chopping block because both players had been nominated before and the decision would result in little blood on his hands. However, Nick is considering backdooring Jack Matthews or Jackson Michie later in his HoH reign.

The Big Brother broadcast began on Day 23, with Nick -- the new Head of Household -- saying Kemi Faknule had woken up "the beast." He sarcastically wished her luck in "Camp Comeback" but acknowledged she wouldn't be returning to the game.

Isabella Wang couldn't believe Kemi had thrown Nick and herself under the bus either.

Jack was then shown gushing about how his Gr8tful alliance was still in control with Nick in power and they should all be safe for another week.

Jack and Michie promised Nick they'd have his back going forward, but Jessica said Nick's victory was "worst case scenario" for her and she hoped to avoid the chopping block this week.

Meanwhile, Kemi was glad she had shaken things up in the house and hopefully put a target on Nick and Bella's backs. Kemi hoped the pair would be taken out before she gets back into the game.

Nicole Anthony was then shown expressing concern to Cliff she'd be blamed for the one rogue vote, but Michie was actually the one person who had voted to evict Jessica.

Michie was just looking to stir the pot and make things interesting. He said he didn't trust Nick, but with Nick in power this week, Michie felt the need to switch up his game a little bit.

Michie then told Nick that Nicole was "the flip vote" and acting paranoid.

Nick was thinking about nominating Cliff and Jessica for eviction, but Michie's claim made him consider nominating Nicole. Nick planned to keep his eye on Nicole, saying he was only loyal to "Gr8tful plus [Sam Smith]."

Isabella was disappointed in Kemi because she thought they could have been friends. Bella asked Kemi if she was dumb and said it made no sense for Kemi to throw her under the bus like that.

The girls fought and even put their hands on each other, but Sam broke them up. Kemi accused Bella of talking sh-t behind her back, but Bella just told Kemi to return to "Camp Comeback" and keep her mouth shut.

Afterward, Michie told Jack that he had voted to evict Jessica, and Jack called him "brilliant" and "diabolical." But Michie made Jack swear he wouldn't tell a soul in the house about it.

Nicole then told Michie and Holly Allen she felt the one vote was being pinned on her but she wasn't at fault. Holly brushed off the vote, saying it didn't mean anything, but Nicole was still clearly worried.

Nick, Bella and Sam then discussed how Michie was acting paranoid and kept bringing up Nicole's name. Nick started to think Michie was actually the person behind the rogue vote.

Nick needed to do what was best for his game, and he wasn't sure nominating Nicole would be the best move. Nick told Nicole that she wasn't dumb and he assumed someone else had pinned the vote on her.

Nick asked Nicole to trust him and said, "I'm not putting you up this week, so don't worry. I'm not putting you up... Just relax."

Nicole felt relieved but knew anything can happen in Big Brother and she wouldn't feel safe until the week was out.

It then became time for the final "Whacktivity" competition of the summer. The following houseguests participated in the "Panic" whacktivity: Analyse Talavera, Jessica, Nick, and Christie Murphy.

The players were required to put their hands into a bin filled with cockroaches to view symbols that would ultimately decipher a secret message. The houseguest had to choose lettered tiles that best represented the symbols and then correctly place them on a board.

The houseguest to solve the puzzle in the fastest time would win a secret power.

Christie won the competition after completing the puzzle in under eight minutes.

Christie's secret "Panic" power will make everyone panic at a future Veto Meeting, as Christie will be able to turn the golden Power of Veto into a diamond Power of Veto, meaning the Veto winner will be able to remove someone from the chopping block and then name the replacement nominee him or herself instead of the Head of Household.

The power can only be used once and would be good at the next four Veto Meetings.

Christie realized she could blindside or backdoor somebody, and she was ecstatic. She chose to share the news of her power only with Tommy Bracco.

Jack then chose to share how he had won the power to change a lineup of players in a Veto Competition with Christie and Tommy, but Christie refused to tell Jack about her new power.

Afterward, Kemi told Nicole that Bella had informed her Christie once overheard Cliff talking to the cameras about how he was in an alliance with Nicole and Ovi Kabir called "Zing." Nicole was worried the whole house would find out about this and then target her.

Cliff felt silly and admitted he had screwed up. He thanks Nicole for the heads-up, and then the pair agreed to keep their distance from each other for a little while.

Cliff subsequently told Nick he'd be okay with being a pawn on the chopping block if it helped Nick's game, and the HoH really appreciated that.

Sam was then shown telling the cameras Jack would be a great target, with Michie in the runner-up spot. Sam hoped to make a big move soon, but it was ultimately up to Nick.

Nick knew such a big move would draw lines in the sand, and he wasn't sure if he was ready for that so early on.

Nicole then warned Nick -- with Bella in the room -- that Michie, Jack and Holly had planned to nominate Nick and Bella for eviction this week had he not won Head of Household. Bella didn't know how Nick and herself could've been so naive.

Nick felt betrayed and wondered if this would be the right time to turn on his Gr8tful alliance.

The houseguests then gathered together for the Nomination Ceremony, and Nick announced he had nominated Cliff and Jessica for eviction.

Nick explained he loved them both and it was not personal. He figured it would be easiest to just nominate people who had already been on the block and they could fight for the veto this week.

Nick truly considered putting up Michie and Jackson, but he wanted to get to the bottom of things before making any hasty decisions. He also promised to backdoor one of the two guys if he determines what Nicole had told him is true.

Jessica planned to win the veto, take herself off the block and "show who's boss." But Cliff hoped to win the veto as well, saying it was "do or die."
