Big Brother's Head of Household, Paul Abrahamian, won the Power of Veto and then nominated Cody Nickson for eviction in Josh Martinez's place during Wednesday night's broadcast of Season 19 of CBS.

The Big Brother broadcast began with Josh, a 23-year-old in hair care sales from Miami, FL, who currently resides in Homestead, FL, and Alex Ow, a 28-year-old eco-friendly marketing representative from Thousand Oaks, CA, who currently resides in Camarillo, CA, sitting on the chopping block as Paul's two pawns.

Ramses Soto, a 21-year-old cosplay artist from Grand Rapids, MI, is the third nominee for eviction but only because his placement on the block was a consequence for Paul having chosen to take advantage of a previous immunity temptation.

Alex didn't really trust that she was a pawn, but Josh believed in Paul's plan to backdoor Cody, a construction sales representative from Lake Mills, IA, who currently resides in Plano, TX, and trusted him.

Cody knew Paul's nominations were "theatrics" and that he was the real target of the house.

Cody therefore hoped his name would be pulled for the next Power of Veto competition, as well as his showmance partner Jessica Graf's name because she would save him. Although Cody and Jessica were outsiders, they planned to stick together until the end.

Paul then asked Ramses to throw the upcoming PoV competition because if he won it, Paul wouldn't be afforded the chance to name a replacement nominee -- which would ultimately ruin his plan to take out Cody.

Ramses wasn't thrilled with the idea of throwing a competition, as he had promised his family he would never do that, but he feared the house would turn against him if he didn't follow through.

It then became time to pick players for the PoV competition. In addition to Paul as the HoH and Alex, Josh and Ramses as the nominees, the other houseguests picked to play were Elena Davies and Matt Clines.

Paul was so happy that neither Cody or Jessica were selected to participate, because now they had no chance to save themselves.

The Power of Veto was designed for each houseguest to answer a series of questions in pretend airport terminals. Every time they answered a question correctly, they could advance to the next terminal and the next question.

If a player answered a question incorrectly, he or she would have to complete a daunting task, like solving a puzzle or jumping into a tub of ice cold water. The player to complete the competition in the fastest time would win the veto.

Ramses did decide to throw the competition, but much to his alliance's dismay, he somehow ended up with the second fastest time behind Paul, who won the competition with a time of four minutes and 37 seconds. Ramses completed the whole course in seven minutes and 48 seconds.

Paul was convinced Ramses did not throw the competition, because it took someone like Elena 22 minutes and 35 seconds to complete the competition. Paul was disappointed and didn't know whether to continue to target Cody or take out Ramses, "the snake," because of his selfishness and inability to cooperate with their alliance.

Ramses, however, swore to the group that his intentions were in favor of the group, not himself.

Cody vented to Jessica after the PoV competition that "the idiots" were going to take Paul all the way to the end.

At the Veto Meeting, Josh called Cody "a meatball" and slammed him for multiple betrayals and not being a player of integrity. Josh made it known that Cody deserves to go home, and Cody barked back at him that he should put another diaper on, indirectly calling him a baby.

Josh said he was sick of Cody taking shots at him, and after the explosive exchange, Paul announced he had decided to use the veto on Josh and nominate Cody for eviction in his place.

Paul explained to Cody that he felt backstabbed and heard Cody had been saying things about him behind his back. Because Paul lost trust in Cody and didn't want to go toe-to-toe with him in the house going forward, he wants to send him packing.

Cody actually told Paul that he respected the move and later told the cameras that they are the only two "alphas" in the house, saying that everyone else was a beta following Paul around.

Jessica was extremely sad about Cody's nomination, because the idea of losing her boyfriend -- and only friend in the house -- was terrible. At this point, she lost all hope in him staying in the game.

Also during Wednesday night's episode, Cody, Jessica and Jason Dent learned they must spend the week dressed in giant toad costumes and hop around every time they wanted to move somewhere. The crazy costume was the consequence for Christmas Abbott having accepted the Den of Temptation's "Ring of Replacement."
