Ben Higgins is reportedly starting to regret his decision to get engaged to Lauren Bushnell instead of his other The Bachelor love JoJo Fletcher.

"Ben thinks he may have picked the wrong woman," an insider to In Touch Weekly, according to OK! Weekly.

Higgins said, "I love you," to both Bushnell and Fletcher while filming Season 20 of The Bachelor and had been very open about the fact he was torn between them. His heartfelt admissions also left both women convinced they'd become his fiancee and future wife.

However, Higgins put an engagement ring on Bushnell's finger during the Final Rose Ceremony. He realized right at the end of the process he loved the flight attendant more than Fletcher.

But now, Higgins is "realizing he's still very much in love with JoJo, and that those feelings may never go away," said the insider.

"Lauren has never forgiven Ben for telling JoJo he loved her just hours before proposing. Her insecurity has always been a source of tension."

Higgins reportedly second guesses his proposal when times get hard with Bushnell.

"Every time he has a fight with Lauren, his mind wanders back to JoJo," the insider told InTouch. "He questions whether he would have been happier being engaged to her."

It also doesn't help that Higgins and Bushnell allegedly have very little in common.

"Ben and Lauren have realized over the past few months that they are just two totally different people," the insider explained.

Fletcher was absolutely "devastated" when Higgins dumped her, but ABC gave her a second chance to find true love on The Bachelorette, which is currently airing.

"She's finally at the point where she's completely moved on from him and is ready to find herself a husband who loves her and only her," the insider said of the Dallas real estate developer.

Higgins would therefore have an extremely tough time winning Fletcher back if he chooses to go down that road. In fact, the In Touch source believes he wouldn't stand a chance.

"Of course, if Ben reaches out to her, she'll talk to him," noted the insider. "But I can promise you, she will never get back together with him -- ever. JoJo will forever be the one that got away."

After all, fans are watching Fletcher fall in love all over again on The Bachelorette
