A spokesman for actor Ben Affleck says the newlywed dad-to-be is too busy to run for the U.S. Senate -- at least right now.

Many Virginia Democrats would like to see Affleck run against Sen. George Allen, R-Va., in next year's election, the Washington Post reported Tuesday.
Affleck, 33, and his bride, Jennifer Garner, reportedly looked for houses near Charlottesville, Va., but moving plans are not apparently on the front-burner for the celebrity duo.
Affleck's rep, Ken Sunshine, told the Post rumors of an Affleck political run are "baseless" since he is otherwise occupied directing his first feature film, Disney's "Gone, Baby, Gone."
However, "he would be a superb candidate for public office in the future," Sunshine added.
