Bear Grylls released new book "Extreme Food" on Thursday.

The 40-year-old adventurer and reality TV star details how to prepare food found in the wild, and shares his weird food experiences in the book.

Grylls has eaten his fair share of strange or disgusting things in survival situations, including scorpions, tarantulas and raw goat testicles.

"My brand-new book, 'Extreme Food,' comes out today!" he announced on Facebook. "There's alot to learn when it comes to dinner time in the wild (ever tried a scorpian kebab?) and this book will teach you the vital skills you need to know...as well as revealing some of the most extreme things i have eaten in my life!"

Grylls came to fame on Discovery series "Man vs. Wild" in 2006. The program aired for seven seasons, and saw the adventurer survive with few supplies in remote regions after purposely being stranded with his film crew. He most recently starred on "Running Wild with Bear Grylls" on NBC.

Grylls has published seven other books, including "The Kid Who Climbed Everest, Mud, Sweat and Tears: The Autobiography and A Survival Guide for Life." He also wrote five books for children's series "Mission Survival."
