The award recognizes Wilson's years of accomplishments as a musician and humanitarian, "Entertainment Tonight" reported.
The award will be presented at a tribute dinner during the 47th Annual Grammy Awards to be broadcast live at 8 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 13 on CBS.
During his long career, the Grammy-nominated composer delivered some of pop music's most influential hits, like the Beach Boys' "I Get Around" and "California Girls," as well as solo chart-toppers like "Good Vibrations."
Wilson has also been contributing to philanthropic causes like cancer research and helping individuals with severe handicaps.
