"Surprisingly, I found out when I had my first trimester screening. I was about 13 weeks when they told me the sex! I was honestly praying for a boy," the 37-year-old reality TV star toldPeople.
"I have wanted to have a son for years. There are all girls on my side, so this will be our first boy. My family is over the moon... Every time I go to the doctor, I have them check to make sure it's a boy. I'm still in disbelief!"
Lozada and Los Angeles Dodgers player Carl Crawford, her new fiance and baby's father, have been recently brainstorming names.
"Carl and I have a few in mind, but haven't decided yet," Lozada said.
Lozada confirmed the news of her pregnancy in late November 2013 but initially declined to reveal whom the father is. She then announced one month later she had gotten engaged to Crawford, showing off her 14.5 carat diamond engagement ring on Instagram.
Lozada's 20-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, Shaniece, was at her mother's side when finding out the baby's sex.
"We were both so happy," Lozada told People. "Shaniece is just happy that she can still be the princess of the family. Her brother is already her BFF in her head."
Lozada, now seven months along, will reportedly be celebrating a "diapers and diamonds" themed baby shower on Saturday, February 8 in Los Angeles hosted by her daughter, herBasketball Wives costar Shaunie O'Neal and a couple other close friends.
Invitations to the shower have already been sent out, according to the magazine.
Lozada divorced ex-husband Chad Johnson after only two months of marriage in 2012.
She filed for divorce after an August 2012 domestic violence incident in which Johnson allegedly heat-butted Lozada after she found a receipt for condoms and confronted him about it outside their Florida home. Lozada suffered a laceration on her forehead from the blow, which reportedly required stitches.
Johnson and Lozada's previously-ordered Ev and Ocho reality series -- a spinoff of VH1'sBasketball Wives that had been scheduled to premiere only a month later -- was canceled by the network following the domestic violence altercation.
