Green Bay Packers fans at a Wisconsin bar said they plan to burn memorabilia bearing Brett Favre's name during a game against the Minnesota Vikings.
The Milwaukee Burger Co. in Eau Claire said it will burn merchandise related to the ex-Packer-turned-Viking during halftime of Monday night's game between the two teams, the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram reported Tuesday.
Manager Julie Kolk said $10 will be donated to charity for each item of Favre memorabilia thrown onto the flames. She said the idea for the event began when the quarterback came out of retirement to play for the Vikings.
"It kind of started with some of the regulars here," Kolk said. "There was a lot of talk about doing something for the Packers-Vikings game."
Kolk said the event is perfect for the bar because its patrons include fans of both teams.
"We cater to both the Vikings and the Packers (fans)," she said. "We do have kind of two segregated crowds."
