Ohio officials said the Statehouse in Columbus now has its first-ever full service bar after the lower level Capitol Cafe switched operators.

The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board, the state agency responsible for the Statehouse and grounds, said the bar went into operation when the cafe reopened Monday under the control of Milo's Catering, The Columbus Dispatch reported.

Greg Dodd, a spokesman for the board, said the liquor permit was transferred from the previous operator, which only used the permit for catered events and not in the cafe.

The bar, which hosts special events and "private happy hours" in addition to occasional public hours, comes "complete with flat screen televisions," Dodd said.

"We are very excited for this to get going and making the cafe a landmark destination within the premier landmark of Ohio," Louie Pappas, owner of Milo's, said earlier in the month.
