Bahamas house where Anna Nicole Smith was living put up for sale

UPI News Service, 02/28/2007

South Carolina real estate mogul Ben Thompson has put the mansion in the Bahamas where the late Anna Nicole Smith lived on the market.

However, ownership of the Horizons estate, which Thompson said he hopes fetches $10 million, is in dispute, The Bahama Journal said.

Smith's companion, Howard K. Stern, and her daughter, 5-month-old Dannielynn, live in the mansion. Stern has said that the mansion belonged to Smith; Thompson said he let her live there but did not give her the house.

Wayne Munroe, a lawyer for Smith's estate, said whoever wanted to buy the house would do so with full knowledge of the lawsuit.

"What you will get is just that -- property that is subject to an action. And so, what will then happen is that if the party that you bought from loses in the action, you get nothing," he said.

Supreme Court Senior Justice Anita Allen scheduled a hearing for March 14. In the meantime, injunctions preventing Thompson and his associates from setting foot on the property remain in place.
