A pair of badgers managed to block a main road in England after they burrowed through an embankment, causing a landslide.

It took work crews four days to remove two truckloads of soil that blocked the main road from Tilston into Malpas in the county of Cheshire, The Chester Chronicle reports.
Because badgers are protected animals in England, the local county council had to apply for a license before it could begin to repair the damage.
Parish Councilor John Bird, who lives opposite the site, says he heard a really loud thud and went out to see what was happening.
"A mountain of bright orange sand covered one side of the road completely," Bird says. "It was lucky a car wasn't passing at the time."
