Bachelor in Paradise's Monday night episode ended on a cliffhanger with only half the Rose Ceremony and Clare Crawley considering quitting the show when it became time for her to hand out a rose.

The broadcast began with Mikey Tenerelli thinking Clare was very fake, because his version of Clare saying she "wanted to keep things open" was to play it cool and take things slow. He had no idea it meant being so detached from one another. Mikey wanted to start over in Paradise but didn't have many options to do that with since mostly everyone was paired up already.

Clare told the cameras that Jared Haibon was gorgeous and looked like Superman. Jared had asked her on a date, and the pair went sailing and then bungee jumping. She was so scared but excited to take on the adventure with Jared. The pair kissed before taking the grand leap towards the ocean. Clare said in a confessional that Jared would receive a dozen roses from her if she had them.

Meanwhile, Kirk DeWindt told Carly Waddell that Ashley Iaconetti was like a child in a woman's body. Ashley I. made fun of Clare for being eight years older than 26-year-old Jared.

As for Joe Bailey, he was still leading Juelia Kinney on but hoping Samantha Steffen was going to show up soon. Mikey thought Joe was a liar and wasn't genuine.

Once Clare and Jared returned from their date, Clare gushed to Carly and Juelia about how wonderful it was and that she 100% liked Jared. Ashley I. could overhear Clare's conversation and cried. Ashley I. said Clare thought she was a princess and the situation was as if she was telling her story to all the little animals.

Michael Garofola from Desiree Hartsock's season of The Bachelorette then arrived in Paradise. Michael explained he was solely interested in Tenley Molzahn, but she was already juggling JJ Lane and Joshua Albers. Michael said Tenley wasn't a 10, she was "elevenly." JJ confessed Michael was "a legit threat to everybody" because he's a corporate lawyer and a Notre Dame grad.

Michael then pulled Tenley aside and admitted she was the only person he wanted to ask on a date. She felt incredibly honored and accepted the date. Joshua jokingly wished diarrhea on Michael that night.

Mikey, in a last ditch effort to stick around in Paradise, tried to kiss Juelia but she just wasn't having it and shut him down. Joe said Mikey was just making moves because he was desperate.

Later on, Tenley and Michael enjoyed their date, eating dinner in the middle of what appeared to be a moonlit pool. Michael laid it on pretty thick, telling Tenley there was no Plan B for him if things didn't work out with her. Michael loved Tenley's positivity and beauty, and she thought he was a special, amazing guy. Tenley was surprised a guy would put himself out for her the way Michael had.

The couple kissed on their date and then they were serenaded by a huge Mariachi band. Michael said Tenley was every bit amazing as he had expected her to be. He thought falling in love in Paradise would be very possible.

Back in Paradise, Jared told Clare that she's an awesome girl. But while they got along great, he was apparently concerned about the age gap. Jared also implied he didn't feel a spark or butterflies with her. Clare realized right then and there that they probably weren't going to have a future together. Clare noted that Jared wasn't ready for what she was looking for in life.

Prior to the Rose Ceremony, Juelia announced to the group that Joe was going to receive her rose in order to calm his nerves. Ashley Salter was disgusted because she said Joe flat out "sucked" and Juelia was getting played.

Jonathan Holloway, who had been invested in Juelia, then pulled her aside to chat. Juelia explained she felt connected to Joe, and then Jonathan asked her if she believed Joe felt the same way since he hadn't even spent much time with her in the last couple of days.

Jonathan suggested to Juelia that Joe was on the show for the wrong reasons and he wasn't there for her. Juelia didn't know what to think because Jonathan was on the chopping block, but at the same time, she thought he was a nice guy who wouldn't manipulate a situation for his own benefit.

However, Mikey then told Juelia the same thing and mentioned how she had better options than Joe.

Juelia became confused and said it was all so unexpected. She then confronted Joe about the information, telling him that he had been standoffish recently. Joe lied right to her face, insisting he was just nervous and didn't want to smother her. To seal the deal, Joe kissed Juelia again as he told the cameras, "Just give me that rose."

Joe told Juelia he really liked her, but then he reiterated in a confessional how he was just trying to make the best of the situation considering Samantha wasn't there yet.

Mikey could feel the tension with Joe so he decided to approach him and discuss things. Mikey said it seemed like Joe was politicking for Juelia's rose. Joe, however, argued he really cared for Juelia and secretly wanted to punch Mikey in the face.

Mikey ended up apologizing for assuming things about Joe that weren't true -- even though they were completely accurate -- and then Joe laughed to the cameras, calling Mikey his bitch.

Joe then talked to Jonathan. Joe accused Jonathan of throwing him under a bus and hurting his feelings. Joe said he should've talked things over with him before saying things to Juelia that worried her. Jonathan felt terrible and apologized to both Joe and Juelia. Joe also asked Jonathan to set the record straight by confessing to Juelia he had lied about Joe's intentions.

Jonathan started crying to Juelia. He said he messed up and hoped she could forgive him. Jonathan owned up to the fact he was looking for love and simply didn't want to go home yet. He felt he had betrayed Joe, and then he went off crying in a bathroom.

Joe hugged it out with Jonathan and said they could still be friends going forward, but it was clear to the audience that Jonathan was correct all along and Joe was messing with everyone. Juelia was convinced Joe was genuine, caring and honest. But he just needed her rose in order to meet Samantha.

Meanwhile, Tenley felt very conflicted. She knew Michael was a great guy and had a lot to offer. She trusted JJ and felt safe and comfortable with him. She also loved talking to JJ and felt they had an emotional bond. As for Joshua, Tenley got butterflies and felt chemistry. She was truly stuck in a love square and needed to think outside of the box.

Jared then talked to Ashley I. He explained he was trying to find out where his emotions and connections were. But all that Jared knew was that he had a real connection with Ashley. He wanted to get to know her better and kissed her. Ashley I. was caught off-guard but loved every second of it. She told Jared it was well worth the wait.

Clare was therefore left without a significant partner. It was tough to watch everyone fall in love when she wanted that so badly. She admitted to being sensitive and emotional but then announced to the group she didn't come to Paradise to campaign or strategize how to stick around longer. She accused the Season 2 bunch of being less interested in finding true love than the people who were on Season 1.

Clare cried and apologized for her outburst, but Jade Roper pointed out she had offended them. Jade told the cameras Clare gave "a weird show-boaty speech."

Jade was certainly there to find love and her boyfriend on the show, Tanner Tolbert, called Clare "a big baby." Clare didn't know whom to give her rose to -- thinking maybe she just shouldn't give one out at all. If Clare was going to base her decision on a romantic connection, there would be no one.

Clare ran off crying and Ashley I. joked it was amazing to see Clare losing her mind. Jade said it was Clare's last chance of finding love on a Bachelor show.

Once the Rose Ceremony commenced, it was time for the women to hand out their roses to the guys. Carly offered it to Kirk, Ashley S gave hers to Dan Cox, Jade offered her rose to Tanner, and then Tenley surprisingly gave her rose to Joshua. To be continued...
