Bachelor in Paradise couple Connor Saeli and Whitney Fransway have broken up after just two months of dating.

Connor and Whitney, who began a romance on Bachelor in Paradise's sixth season earlier this summer, seemed like a great match in Mexico, but Connor has confirmed their spark didn't last long.

"We rushed into a relationship," Connor told People, announcing the couple's split. "And we realized that we just weren't connecting anymore."

The 24-year-old investment analyst and Whitney, a 28-year-old pilates instructor, attended The Bachelorette couple Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo's wedding together on August 23, and that's apparently when the couple started to realize something was off between them.

"We started having some serious talks in terms of seeing a future," Connor said.

And ultimately, when they spent some time in Los Angeles, CA, together last week, Connor told People they had "both agreed breaking up was the right thing to do."

"It was 100 percent mutual," Connor insisted. "We're just not right for each other."

Connor assured the magazine "there's no hard feelings" between them.

"I think we'll be great friends. She's definitely a person I want in my life," he added.

Connor and Whitney met at Chris Randone and Krystal Nielson's June wedding in Mexico, which aired on the latest season of Bachelor in Paradise.

Connor and Whitney hit it off, but then Caelynn Miller-Keyes stole him away and captured his attention. Connor and Whitney's relationship therefore didn't progress past an initial conversation.

Once Connor and Caelynn returned to the beach together, their relationship moved fast and Connor began falling for Caelynn.

However, Dean Unglert returned to Paradise in the hope of winning Caelynn back, and he did just that. Caelynn therefore left Mexico with Dean, and Connor was left behind feeling crushed.

After a fun and lighthearted date with Revian Chang, Connor got back into the dating game and started thinking about Whitney, whom he could see a lot of potential with.

Connor anticipated Whitney would join the Paradise cast so they could get to know each other better, but once she didn't show up, he quit the show.

Much to Whitney's dismay, she did in fact enter Paradise only to learn Connor had left the resort about 20 minutes earlier. So instead of choosing to  date another guy on the beach, Whitney opted to leave Paradise and chase Connor down.

The pair then reunited in Connor's hotel room, and cameras caught the bachelor kissing Whitney on his balcony.

"I was so excited to see her show up at my room," Connor said. "After that we got to spend a couple of days together in Mexico to get to know each other, and it was really cool."

Connor and Whitney apparently had high hopes for their relationship once they returned to the real world.

"After Mexico, I ended up flying to LA (Fransway's hometown) with her," revealed Connor, who is from Texas.

"I got to meet a bunch of her friends and it was cool to see her life there. Things were going really great."

But by the end of August, Connor told People he and Whitney "realized the relationship was moving really quickly."

"We almost skipped over those beginning of relationship steps, like really getting to know each other," he elaborated.

"We were basically thrown into a long distance relationship, and the fact that we had to be private about it (as the show was airing) made it even harder."

Although things didn't work out on their first try, Connor admitted he wouldn't be against reconciling at some point in the future and giving their relationship another go.

"That's something we'll see in time. You never know what could happen down the road," Connor shared.

Connor and Whitney did not make an appearance on Bachelor in Paradise's sixth-season reunion, which taped on August 27 and just aired on September 17, but Connor assured Chris Harrison he and Whitney were still together at the time, according to Us Weekly.
