Fans began speculating the couple had broken up in March after the pair noticeably stopped sharing photos together on social media.

The last photo posted of the couple on Instagram actually dates back to February 2 when they had attended a charity event for Colton Underwood's Legacy Foundation created for children with cystic fibrosis.

Clay, 31, who competed for Becca Kufrin's heart on The Bachelorette's fourteenth season, announced he was romantically involved with Angela in September 2018 by posting a photo of the couple on Instagram.

"What do the kids call it? Woman crush Wednesday? Well here's mine," the professional football player captioned the image.

Mutual friend Chris Randone set Angela, 28, and Clay up after getting to know Angela -- who appeared on Nick Viall's edition of The Bachelor in 2017 -- on Bachelor in Paradise's fifth season.

After Angela expressed interest in Clay early into filming Bachelor in Paradise, Angela recalled Chris telling her, "Listen, if nothing works out for you here, after the show, this is happening. I'm going to hook it up," Us reported last year.

Angela, however, wanted to first focus on trying to establish a connection in Paradise, and she ended up dating Eric Bigger for most of the season until he broke her heart in Mexico.

So after Angela returned home single, Chris reportedly reached out to Clay as promised. And Angela and Clay appeared smitten with each other from the start.

In October 2018, Angela suggested during an appearance on The Ben & Ashley I. Almost Famous Podcast that she and Clay may move in together soon.

"I'm still in South Carolina, but before Paradise, I was maybe going to move to Nashville, and that's still kind of the plan. But I don't know," Angela revealed.

"We're talking, there's been some things that we're talking about. So, it's great because our schedules are super flexible right now, so it's kind of like anything is a possibility at this point."

When co-host Ashley Iaconetti noted Clay lives in Chicago, IL, but had the freedom to move anywhere given he was a free agent in the NFL, Angela replied, "If he gets picked up, then I can kind of go wherever he gets picked up or whatever. So it's kind of a perfect time."

She added, "I feel like timing is always very important in a relationship, and I feel like the timing is right for us right now."
