Lake County sheriff's deputies and Lake County Animal Control said they were assisted by a team of buffalo herders from Tampa in rounding up the six buffalo spotted wandering an orange grove in Montverde, the Orlando Sentinel reported Friday.
Lt. John Herrell, a spokesman for the Lake County Sheriff's Office, said the owner of the animals believes they escaped his Ocoee farm by swimming across Lake Apopka.
The buffalo were taken to Lake County Animal Services.
