Ashley Iaconetti and boyfriend Kevin Wendt have split.

It appears The Bachelor Winter Games couple's hot and heavy romance has turned cold.

Ashley has confirmed to Entertainment Tonight that her relationship with Kevin, a Canadian firefighter, has come to an end less than a month after the show's finale aired on ABC and featured the pair winning the Games and receiving golden roses.

The breakup was reportedly amicable and the individuals intend to stay friends.

So what went wrong? A source told ET that Ashley, 30, and Kevin, 33, simply couldn't make the long-distance relationship work, as Ashley is busy with her entertainment career in Los Angeles, CA, and Kevin currently resides in Toronto.

"It was a little weird to have to figure out a long-term plan so soon," the source said.

"Ashley and Kevin were both really into each other, they just weren't sure if it was a forever thing. And it's hard to date long distance like that."

Ashley said she'll discuss the split and what went wrong on the next episode of her The Ben and Ashley I: Almost Famous Podcast with Ben Higgins. Kevin will reportedly join Ashley on the podcast to share his views on the situation as well.

Ashley and Kevin's decision to call it quits on their romance may come as a surprise to fans. Several days ago, Ashley posted a cute photo of the couple on Instagram, writing, "The way @kevin.c.wendt wants to take care of his lady's heart is so beautiful."

And on March 6, Kevin wasn't able to celebrate Ashley's 30th birthday in person in L.A. -- but he still gave her a sweet shout-out on social media.

"She has so many incredible qualities I'm learning about each day. There is a reason she has so many friends and people around her that love her," Kevin captioned a photo of Ashley snuggled up in an Adirondack chair.

"She's the most driven, motivating, and supportive person I know. She motivates me to be more. Smart, sweet, sexy and it's her birthday tomorrow!! So go say happy birthday to her!!! #30looksgood #campfireandwine."

Kevin and Ashley got involved on The Bachelor Winter Games and crushed the competition as a team. Not only did they win a steamy kissing challenge, but they also performed the best ice-dance of the season. The couple topped off their experience on the show with a Fantasy Suite date.

"I know what everybody's million dollar question is -- have we or have we not? -- but I will never, ever, say yes or no to that question," Ashley told Us Weekly when asked the status of her virginity at the taping for the series' World Tells All reunion special.

"Just because I've been public about it in the past, doesn't mean that I can't make something private once somebody else is associated in that topic of my life."

After the show wrapped filming, Ashley and Kevin visited each other multiple times, and they made a habit of calling each other and FaceTiming.

Late last month, Ashley told Us that Kevin was considering a move to the United States to be with her and had been "eyeballing fire stations down by the beach."

Ashley found fame when she first competed for Chris Soules' heart on The Bachelor's nineteenth season. She then looked for love again on Bachelor in Paradise's second and third editions but came up short.

As for Kevin, he first appeared on The Bachelorette Canada's first season. Kevin got engaged to the show's star, Jasmine Lorimer, but they broke up shortly afterward.
