Ariel Winter was thrilled to meet Caitlyn Jenner at an awards ceremony earlier this week.
"Met Caitlyn and she called me her second daughter she was so sweet!" Winter captioned a photo of herself with Jenner at the event.
Jenner is the father of three daughters -- Cassandra Marino, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner -- and a former stepfather to Kourtney Kardashian, Kim Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian.
Winter defended Kim in May after Chloe Grace Moretz criticized the mom-of-two's nude selfie.
"Many have asked about my opinion on a certain interview.... all I'm going to say is this: If you take a photo in which you feel confident about yourself and think it spreads a positive image, then go for it," she wrote on Instagram."The 'background' doesn't matter - what maters is the message you are putting out there is true to what you believe in - not what anyone else says about you," the star asserted. "No need to put one another down."
Winter herself has faced plenty of backlash for her revealing social media posts. She admitted in the fall issue of Rogue that criticism "no longer hits her as hard" as it did in her early career.
Winter plays Alex Dunphy on the ABC sitcom "Modern Family," which airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
She and "Aftermath" actor Levi Meaden enjoyed a tropical getaway to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, over the weekend.
