Anne Hathaway's publicist confirmed to People.com Monday the U.S. actress is engaged to marry Adam Shulman, her boyfriend of three years.

Hathaway began dating the jewelry designer after a high-profile breakup from Raffaello Follieri, an Italian businessman who pleaded guilty to 14 counts of money laundering, conspiracy and wire fraud.

"I am very much in love with him, [only] Adam totally ruined my plan," Hathaway has told People.com in the past.

"I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time, and then I fell in love like a fool!"

Hathaway is best known for her work in the "Princess Diaries" movies, as well as "Brokeback Mountain," "Becoming Jane" and "The Devil Wears Prada."
