The "Cry-Baby" actress, 41, must serve at least two years behind bars before she is eligible for parole, the Newark Star-Ledger said Thursday.
Locane-Bovenizer could have faced up to 15 years in prison, if the maximum penalty had been imposed.
The judge overseeing the case said at sentencing he considered the hardship a prison term would have on Locane-Bovenizer's two daughters, the Star-Ledger said.
The charges against Locane-Bovenizer related to a Montgomery Township crash that left one woman dead and her husband critically injured.
Although the actress had a blood-alcohol content of three times the legal limit, her attorney argued she crashed into the other vehicle because she was being chased by another motorist, whom she had rear-ended earlier in the evening.
