Actress Amy Acker is a new mother again, giving birth in Los Angeles, after appearing on the season finale of "How I Met Your Mother."

People Magazine has the initial scoop on the actress and her husband, actor James Carpinello, welcoming their second child, Ava Grace, into the world, Zap2it.com reported Friday.

The couple older child, Jackson, is 19 months old.

"Amy, James and Jackson are enjoying the new addition to their family," said Acker's rep.

The 29-year-old actress is best known for her role as scientist Fred on Joss Whedon's vampire spinoff series "Angel," Zap2it.com said. She then took the part of ruthless superspy Kelly Peyton on the final season of "Alias."

Carpinello has appeared on the big screen in "The Punisher" and "The Great Raid."
