Editor Smokey D. Fontaine told police the co-founder of Roc-a-Fella Records punched him the chest and knocked him from his chair last Tuesday, sending him to the hospital for a two-day stay, the New York Daily News reported.
Fontaine filed a police report when he was released from the hospital Thursday. Dash has not been arrested but faces a charge of third-degree misdemeanor assault, police told the Daily News.
A representative for Dash had no immediate comment.
Dash last week announced he was selling his stake in Rocawear to Jay-Z and other partners for $22 million, severing his final tie to his former Roc-a-Fella Records partner.
