Alleged serial bigamist finally lands in New Jersey jail

An alleged serial bigamist who may have married at least 12 women, bilking many of them out of their life savings, is behind bars in New Jersey.
William Michael Barber's latest wife, Joyce Reynolds of Wharton, N.J., was so despondent after finding about her husband's allged past that she became suicidal, her family said, yet she's standing by her man, the New York Post reported.
Barber met Reynolds, a divorced mother of two, on the Internet. They tied the knot in 2001, a week after he flew to New Jersey from Missouri to meet her. Relatives said he was "bad news" but the bride wouldn't listen until some business partners tracked down his past and she learned it all, the Post said. The law was not far behind.
Along with what some call a "Don Juan con," he has 24 known aliases and several Social Security numbers and has done time in Kansas, California. Texas and Missouri on charges ranging from bigamy to extortion, the Post said.
