Alleged New York mobster Greg DePalma took credit for making sure none of John Gotti's girlfriends were portrayed in an HBO movie about his life.

DePalma, 74, who is on trial in New York federal court on a number of charges including racketeering and extortion, was recorded by a mob informant relating how he allegedly threatened HBO's "Gotti" star, Armond Assante, the New York Post reported Friday.
Recordings made in 2004 and played in court, captured DePalma bragging what would happen to Assante, "If there's one off-color thing that's a lie -- even if it's the truth about John with broads.
"I says, 'I'm personally gonna kill you ... I'm not gonna kill you. I'm gonna (expletive) torture you,'" DePalma said. "So he says, 'I promise you, Greg, I promise you.'"
DePalma's attorneys say their client is chronic exaggerator and his stories cannot be believed, the Post said.
He has not been charged with the threats he claims to have made to Assante.
