Al Pacino appeared before a sold-out audience at a New York university homecoming weekend to share memories of his career.

Speaking to a full house Saturday in the field house at Rochester Institute of Technology, the 70-year-old actor took part in an hourlong interview followed by questions from the audience, the Rochester (N.Y.) Democrat and Chronicle reported Sunday.

He spoke of his love for stage acting.

"Anything can happen. And after you've done that a lot, you get used to it, and you start to need it in a crazy way," he said. "Your adrenaline goes and your energy goes, and that kind of thing doesn't happen in movies."

Asked for his advice from aspiring actors, Pacino said, "It's about getting out there and working and thinking about what you do and learning your craft. ... Just be committed to what you do, and just work. "

"I know it sounds like what everybody says, but it's so true," he said.

Pacino was joined at RIT's Brick City Homecoming & Family Weekend by comedian Craig Ferguson, who played to a large crowd Friday night.
