UPI News Service, 09/14/2007

Southwest Airlines has apologized to a passenger who was told to change out of a revealing outfit before boarding a flight to Texas.

During the taping of the "Dr. Phil Show" Friday, Southwest Chief Executive Officer Gary Kelly said his airline was apologizing to passenger Kyla Ebbert for the inappropriate fashion tips from one of its employees in July, The Dallas Morning News reported.

"We searched for the naked truth, gotten down to the bare facts and she kind of caught us with our pants down," Kelly said. "So we're apologizing and we're going to move on and hope we keep her as a good and valued customer."

Ebbert had appeared on NBC's "Today Show" last Friday to describe how a Southwest employee had told her to change out of the miniskirt, bikini top and sweater she had planned to wear on a flight to Tucson.

Southwest initially would not apologize for the incident but was apparently spurred to action by the public's reaction to the news, the newspaper reported.
