A Chicago actuary has developed a 12-point method that uses statistics to determine who will win the Super Bowl -- he says it's the Bears.

John Dewan told Crain's Chicago Business he was thrilled to find that his prediction system shows his home team will win the game.
Dewan, co-owner of ACTA Publications Inc., a Christian and sports-book publishing company, looked at the Bears' and Colts' rushing yards, passing yards, points scored, turnovers, regular-season records, total yards and points allowed to come up with his prediction, Crain's said.
The bottom line, Dewan said, is that the team with fewer passing yards during the regular season usually wins the Super Bowl.
"That's because the team that relies less on the passing game and more on the running game tends to win the Super Bowl. It's opposite of what people might expect," he told Crain's.
