Ace Young and Diana Degarmo have gotten engaged to marry.

American Idol host Ryan Seacrest asked the couple to come up onstage mid-finale broadcast to talk a little bit about their relationship and how things were going. However, it quickly became obvious that Young had a different motive for the conversation.
"This has always been home to us, and I felt that this would be the perfect place to ask a simple question," Young announced.
After Seacrest said, "Dim the lights, here we go," Young continued his speech.
"Diana, we have conquered Broadway together. We have created all our own new music together. We have an amazing group of people around us. And with the help of David Webb jewelry, I have a way to make this fun last forever. Are you ready?" asked Young as he got down on one knee, causing DeGarmo to burst into tears.
"I love you to death. You're my best friend. I want to make this last forever, and I will do anything in my power to have the most unimaginable and amazing life together if you will have me. Diana Nicole DeGarmo, will you marry me?"
A tearful DeGarmo then nodded and repeated the word, "Yes," with a smile ear to ear.
"Put on this ring baby. I'm shaking! Let's see if I can hold it," said Young, who then placed the ring on his new fiancee's ring finger.
"I'm so speechless right now," DeGarmo explained. "Wow, babe, you picked a good one! Alright! Thanks everybody, and my makeup's running."
Young was American Idol's seventh-place finisher during the show's fifth season, while DeGarmo finished Idol's third edition as the runner-up behind Fantasia Barrino.
